Successful Logo Redesigns Part I

A logo is a representation of a company’s brand identity; it is the image of your offering that remains on top memory recall of consumers and other businesses if designed and implemented properly. It identifies the business in a simple clear cut form via a symbol, image or different colors and shades.

As competition grows more and more in the market for various fast moving consumer goods, high involvement brands and service industries, the need for companies to redesign their logos after a period of time not necessarily defined has emerged in order to establish a fresh image in the minds of customers. With a gigantic number of companies in the market today, most of the businesses have to redesign their logo’s adding a little more to their identity. This is done mostly by adding a touch of a different color or a different image, the logo can also be revamped altogether, giving the brand a latest and more interactive feel. Several companies follow a logo redesign strategy in order to be successful and remembered.

Pepsi’s original logo was red script on white. Pepsi introduced a red, white and blue round bottle cap to their design in 1950. They have evolved their logos and aptly redesigned them to be fresh and top of memory recall in the minds of the consumers through their logos:


We are all aware of the famous, chic automobile – BMW! Its brand name is not enough for customers and general audiences to remember it what had added more value over the years to this brand and its extreme growth is its designer logo. The trademark blue-white BMW logo is meant to symbolize the movement of an aircraft propeller, of white blades cutting through the blue skies.


Nike is the famous sports brand that has a seller of just do it and its unique single curved line that goes thicker at one end, officially known as “the Nike Swoosh” is what differentiates it from other sports accessorizing brands. This logo has been reforming and finis is being given to it from the time of its existence in the market.


Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines is a US based airline that is operating since the 1920’s. It has changed its logo only twice with a little variation in its symbol.


Scribd is a social publishing site which acts more like a learning management system providing knowledge insights to readers.
