Email Marketing – top tips for contemporary times

When the time is hard, business owners tilt more towards cost cutting, and obviously many business owners cut their marketing cost too. It’s ok to cut the marketing cost but finding inexpensive and effective ways of marketing is undesirable, because nobody wants to perform poorly in a situation when businesses are closing down every day.

Between other effective marketing techniques during recession, Email Marketing is one of the very cheap and quick ways to reach a large audience. However, it has become more difficult to promote a business using email when people receive hundreds of spam mails every day. It takes nick of time for them to delete such mails without even thinking to open it.

To prevent from such situation, you can develop the strategy of permission mailing, which means having people either sign up on your website for such mails or provide their email addresses when they purchase something from your company.

But there are still many things you should consider when crafting an email marketing plan. So here are few tips:

Subject Line – Subject line makes customer to open an email or not. Subject line of your email should be catchy but not suppose to create hype. It’s better if you make it simple by just stating the purpose of the email.

Body of Email Message – Enrich the body of the email by offering new discounts on products or services. You can also dress up the body by your own newsletter, which may only consisted of few paragraph. That will certainly draw the attention of your readers.

Email Deliverability – If your email is not landing in the inbox and continuously piling up in junk, all the efforts you have done previously would become useless. It’s better if you use any email software. There are many companies provide email marketing softwares with assurance that your email will not be considered as junk.

Date and Time – Don’t send email to customer at the date or time in which he is unlikely to open it. For instance, if you send email at night time, the very next day there will be many other emails pileup over your email. So organize the day and time of sending out emails to the customer.

Considering these factors will make you email marketing strategy a success and in turn increase your revenue when others may be suffering from the shortage of funds. In addition, email marketing during financial slump not only gives competitive advantage over the competition but increase you visibility in the marketplace.
