Adidas: from the finest logos of modern history

Three-Stripe brand logo became the worldwide Adidas corporate logo. This logo signifies performance and the future of the ultimate Adidas branding identity. Let us take a journey to the history that how this logo has become synonymous with Adidas: world’s second largest producer of high-quality athletic products.

•    Adidas evolved in Germany in 1920’s when Adi Dassler with his brother Rudolf Dassler (who later forms PUMA AG- another hit brand of sport gears) started producing shoes.  Moreover, at the same time they have created the logo.

•    Earlier in 1967, the Adidas logo appeared on football shoes only; classically featuring three parallel stripes. This logo design followed the ideology of three guiding principles: design the best shoe accordingly to the requirements of the sport, protect athletes from injury, and make the product durable. The three strips have become so popular that it became the standard for football shoes among players of the world. It gives a big success and boost to the Adidas image in the world.

•    Following the success in 1972, Adidas adopted “Trefoil logo”- of flower like design. The 3 leaves symbolize the Olympic spirit, linked to the three continental plates as well as the heritage and history of the brand.

•    Later from 1996, remaining simple confident and clear, Three-Stripe logo design became the “world mark” for Adidas products.

•    Today, Adidas logo is a three-parallel striped design that depicts the mountain, which is to point towards the goals and challenges that lay ahead.

Adidas logo has a powerful impact of sophistication and durability.
