Google’s Brands and their Logos

If we say Google is the pioneer and giant in internet search and marketing, we are absolutely justified in saying these words. Google started its journey in January 1996 as a research project by Larry Page, a PhD. student of Stanford, and then revolutionized the web search and marketing industry.

Google has defined its mission in its website as:
“Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”

No doubt Google has done a lot for the people around the world and for the businesses as well. Google logo has now become the most recognized emblem over the web, and its products and services also are unique with unique logos as their brand identity.


I would like to share some of the Google’s brands and their logos for your gratification.

Chrome

Google Chrome is an open source web browser first launched as a beta version for Microsoft windows platform, later on December 11, 2008 stable version was released. As Google says about Chrome:
“This is just the beginning – Google Chrome is far from done. We’ve released this beta for Windows to start the broader discussion and hear from you as quickly as possible. We’re hard at work building versions for Mac and Linux too, and we’ll continue to make it even faster and more robust.”
Like the product, Google logo is a ‘chrome’, a shiny symbol with the same color combination as the original Google logo have.

Picasa

Picasa is an organizing, editing and sharing software application for digital photos, acquired by the Google in 2004. This free and easy to use software’s name is actually a blend of the name of the legendry painter ‘Pablo Picasso’. Picasa logo is a circular figure which is made up of different pieces of colorful shapes. This logo surely portrays the product nature, and the colors in this logo represent the company’s identity.

Orkut

Another revolutionary product by Google named after its creator Orkut Büyükkökten. This web application is a social networking service designed to help people in making new friends and maintaining existing associations. Orkut logo is a pink emblem which defines the slogan of orkut i.e. “Who do you know?”

Talk

Google Talk is an instant messaging and VOIP web and windows based application launched in 2005. Its logo is yet another symbol which specifically portrays the product functionality and the Google’s brand identity.

YouTube

YouTube is yet another product which has revolutionized the online video streaming services. Google acquired YouTube in November 2006, and since then YouTube has been providing state of the art video sharing services to the people around the world with the slogan “Broadcast Yourself”. You tube logo is a simple black ‘You’ and white ‘Tube’ in a red tube like structure, which simplifies the meaning of the online video streaming services to its users.

Blogger

Google acquired Blogger in February 2003 from a small company Pyra Labs. Blogger is a blog publishing tool which allows people to make their own blogs free of cost. Blogger has now become a very popular tool for blog publishing, its website states: “Now we’re a small (but slightly bigger than before) team in Google focusing on helping people have their own voice on the web and organizing the world’s information from the personal perspective. Which has pretty much always been our whole deal.” Google has been using the same logo since the start of the Blogger services. Its logo consists of a big ‘B’ inscribed in an orange colored square like structure with rounded corners which makes a logo a unique identity.
